Project Details

Berne Solar

Berne Solar is a 3.8-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) array system located at 28 Jansen Lane in the Town of Berne, New York. The Project occupies approximately 23 acres and consists of ground-mounted solar PV panels. Construction of the solar array system involves driving posts into the ground, mounting panels racks to the posts, inverters and several transformers sited on concrete pads, and an access road. Pursuant to §157-20 of the Town Zoning Ordinance, solar energy systems are an allowed use within the RAF district, subject to the issuance of a Special Use Permit and Site Plan Review by the Town.

The Project has received an interconnection study from National Grid that confirms available capacity. The solar array system will be connected to the electric power grid via the 13.2 kV three-phase distribution circuit, which feeds into the Schoharie Substation. The access road will be accessible via Irish Hill Road.

Please note there is no proposal, nor future plan, for the Berne PV, LLC project to include a battery energy storage system.
